Back 2 School J.A.M Bridging The Gap Community Affair

J.A.M Bridging the Gap between the community and law enforcement was a strategic plan birthed in prayer. On Saturday, August 27, 2016, Fanning The Flame Prophetic Evangelical Outreach Ministries hosted a Back To School J.A.M Bridging The Gap Community Affair. J.A.M Fellowship is an outreach facet that provides an atmosphere of tranquility and unity, while empowering and joining together diverse at-risk youth and young adults through life skills, culture, gifts and talents of the arts and pursuit for higher education. This year we saw a need to expand the vision and mission of J.A.M Fellowship to also bridge community engagement with law enforcement gaps and partnership building.Through research we've found that non-enforcement community engagement activities with law enforcement makes a huge contribution to building and maintaining lasting relationships and community trust. Mayor Rivers, St. Stephen, Bonneau, Moncks Corner police and Berkeley sheriff departments are fully engaged in bridging the gap in the community by sharing a platform with community residents and youth doing the electric slide and soul train line at the Back 2 School J.A.M.

Each police department has also adopted an apartment complex awarding a total of 60 scholarships to at risk youth to showcase their gifts and talents. Funds raised through this community affair will sponsor basic school supplies to 30 children in Fox Creek & Belangia and purchase food for the next community affair in September to be held at the park in Bonneau where the community will feed & serve the police officers of Bonneau, St. Stephen, Moncks Corner, and Berkeley Sheriff departments.
